OSHA Safety Standards

A practical course focused on OSHA safety standards relevant to utilities. 

The course includes description of the OSHA fall protection standard—consistently the most cited across industries, especially for new and untrained workers.  This course reviews common fall hazards, personal fall arrest systems (PFAS), training requirements, and employer responsibilities. Participants will learn how to recognize violations and implement effective protective measures on job sites.

The course also covers OSHA’s standard for cranes and derricks, with a focus on inspection protocols, operator responsibilities, and site safety.  Participants will explore periodic and frequent inspection requirements, qualification standards, lift planning, and how to avoid common violations in utility applications.
